The Mid-Year Reset

Can you believe it’s already (well, almost) July?! Is the time flying by or is it just me?

A mid-year reset isn't about starting over. It's checking in and about making small changes that help the second half of the year feel lighter, calmer, and minimizing stress where possible.

Put on a favorite playlist, pour yourself a cup of coffee (or tea,), grab your planner or notebook, and let's reset together.

Ask yourself:

  • What has gone really well this year?

  • What habits actually stuck?

  • What drained my energy?

  • What do I want more of?

  • What can I let go of without guilt?

A Few Mid-Year Reset Ideas:

  • Reset your planner-update your planner with important dates, upcoming events and any other important information you need to track. If there are pages you missed or are empty-use them for “brain dump” space! We all get off track when planning-but make your planner work for you and your needs.

  • Reset your home-Is that junk drawer overflowing? Is the “donation” pile getting bigger and now consider a mountain? Visual clutter can sometimes be overwhelming, gather it and donate it! This may seem like a small task, but small wins are still a win!

  • Review your finances-do you have subscriptions you don’t use? Having one or two paid subscriptions that you don’t use being deleted frees up those funds for other things!

  • Self-Care Reset-Has life been going 100 MPH lately and you have ZERO time to focus on yourself? Find time for joy-not all time has to be productive ( I struggle with this one)! Have lunch with a friend, relax with your book at the beach-if its 30 minutes or 3 hours…take time for a mental health break!

Remember-

You don't need a perfect plan or huge life overhaul to reset—just the willingness to take the next small step.

Here's to laughing more, overthinking less and remembering that happiness usually isn't one big moment—it's finding twenty dollars in your pants pocket, catching all the green lights, and realizing your coffee is somehow still hot.

May the second half of the year bring you more of those little wins ✨

Notebooks, Planners & Newland Row

Newland Row started with a notebook. (Seriously)

Have you ever felt that “I am going to organize my life” motivation? You shop for the perfect planner and new pen ….anticipating that it will fix all of the chaos that can be every day life. I have always loved all kinds of crafts-paper crafts, jewelry making, ceramic, wood working-I’ve probably dabbled in them all at this point. With that being said-trying new notebooks, planners and pens was great! Until they didn’t work for the purpose I needed. I became a collector of sticky notes-it started with a few for simple reminders and led to enough sticky notes to start a small office supply store. This led to trying planners, notebooks or whatever I thought would help me organize all of the things.

Somewhere in the chaos, I learned to use planning systems that worked for my life. Instead of trying to fit every thing I needed in one planner (that usually ended up with little “notes” written on every page)-having one planner and a little notepad worked SO MUCH better. This kept my planner in order and contained my “notes” in one place. Eventually, as Newland Row was born, this led to the creation of The Day Book-a planner companion that is very portable and can be used with your favorite planner.

Every single person can have varying needs when it comes to planners and how much structure is needed-and that is OKAY! The main goal for planners and planning systems should be to find what works for you. And let’s be honest, sometimes life is still chaotic…but it’s contained and written with a pen that glides across paper like an ice skater on fresh ice.

Welcome to Newland Row

Hi, I’m Kelly-the creator behind Newland Row!

This all started from a love of creativity and trying new things. I’ve always enjoyed making things-even when I’m not totally sure how they’ll turn out. And honestly…..sometimes they don’t. Some ideas are complete fails-and that’s okay! I’ve learned that those moments are part of the process and often lead to something even better!

I can’t wait to share more of the creative process-the good ideas, the complete fails, and the inspiration behind it all. Newland Row is centered around everyday living with a focus on bringing a little beauty to the little things. I’m grateful you’re here for what’s ahead-and I look forward to connecting along the way!
